PBAT is a thermoplastic biodegradable plastic whose full name is Polybutylene Adipate Terephthalate (copolymer of polybutylene terephthalate and polybutylene adipate). This material combines the properties of polybutylene adipate (PBA) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), so it has good ductility and elongation at break, as well as good heat resistance and impact resistance. The raw materials of PBAT include 1, 4-butanediol (BDO), adipic acid (AA), and terephthalic acid (PTA), or diol terephthalate (DMT), which are produced by direct esterification or transesterification. This material has a semi-crystalline structure, its melting point is about 130 degrees Celsius, and has excellent biodegradability, and can be decomposed by microorganisms under appropriate environmental conditions. Due to its biodegradable properties, PBAT is often used in the manufacture of disposable items such as shopping bags, garbage bags, food packaging, etc., to reduce the environmental impact of traditional plastic products.

PBAT (polyadipate/butylene terephthalate) is a biodegradable polymer with a wide range of uses, mainly used to replace traditional non-degradable plastic products to reduce the impact on the environment. The following are some of the main uses of PBAT:
1. Plastic packaging film: PBAT because of its good film forming performance, often used to make a variety of packaging materials, such as food bags, supermarket shopping bags and so on.
2. Agricultural mulch: PBAT mulch can be degraded in the soil after use, avoiding the white pollution problem caused by traditional plastic mulch.
3. Single-use appliances: Consumer products such as tableware and tablecloths are usually discarded after one use, and the biodegradable properties of PBAT help reduce the long-term impact of such items on the environment.
4. Waterproof coating: PBAT can be used as a coating for paper cups and other products that require waterproof properties.
5. Textile applications: PBAT can be used to produce fibers and textiles, providing a degradable textile solution.
6. Hygiene products: Personal care products such as diapers and sanitary napkins can also use PBAT materials to degrade faster after waste.
7. Personal protective equipment: such as gloves, breathing masks, etc., especially in the medical field, PBAT offers biodegradable options that reduce the stress of medical waste disposal.
Overall, PBAT has found applications in multiple industries due to its biodegradability and good processing properties, especially in those seeking more environmentally friendly solutions.
